This weekend saw the start of a new project on the Sunray Estate. We have been working with Will from Woodwork with Will to create some flower beds around some of the trees on the estate. Will has used recycled wood and made 8 planter borders to the measurements we gave him. He then put them in position on Saturday morning. Meadway, Barnsbury Crescent and Sunray Avenue were our initial locations. We then set about clearing the turf, putting in a membrane, adding soil (taken from some of our alley clearances) and planting them up.

Since the weekend it has been lovely to see that local residents have adopted the flower beds by adding further plants and watering them. They certainly add a touch of colour and make our streets look cared for.

If you would like to adopt a flower bed near to your home please let us know via email to hello@secra.org.uk and we will put you on our list.
